Memalose Lake hike

Our hike last Saturday was steep, cool and fun. It was a twelve mile drive off the highway up into the mountains. D did the whole thing and loved the salamanders, great selection of sticks and a dog named Aurora who belonged to some barefoot hikers behind us but for some reason preferred D's companionship for about a half mile. J was great too and talked a lot.

Hiking is our way of getting away from it all and this was a great one. The lake at the top was beautiful and there were a handful of camping spots.

That is a beautiful place Mindy.
Sometimes it is necessary to leave civilization and just be together in a serene, peaceful area. It does everyone some good.

So pretty! It's always nice to do a hike that has a fun thing at the end - like a lake or waterfall.
